Mexican Wall Mural – Cactoblastis

Who: Cactoblastis Mexican Kitchen, Neutral Bay Sydney

What: To design and paint a Mexican Day Of The Dead wall mural for the restaurant.

How: The only requirements for the brief was that the client wanted a moth (a Cactoblastis is a cactus moth) and some dahlias, references to frida kahlo and mexican day of the dead. This was our first ever mural job and it was really fun. When Alice the owner was interviewed by the Sydney Morning Herald she was quoted saying “It’s the most expensive piece of art I’ve ever bought and I can’t take it with me,”.
